Blue Skies

On another Tuesday, azure
skies glowed. Crimson and burnt
umber had only begun
to massage green life
from branches. The morning, crisp,
was warmer than this.

Yesterday was Monday, dark,
wet with passive rain.
But today's skies
are clear Carolina blue.

On that other Tuesday, black
tainted, flooded, choked
the pristine sky with fear.
Still, blue remained still
here.

I wonder if today
will welcome doom
so gracefully.
