Leanne![]() from Just west of the lounge room Associate, 3019 posts | My very favourite is from Soren Kierkegaard (no surprise I guess): A poet is an unhappy being whose heart is torn by secret sufferings, but whose lips are so strangely formed that when the sighs and the cries escape them, they sound like beautiful music... and then people crowd about the poet and say to him: "Sing for us soon again;" that is as much as to say, "May new sufferings torment your soul" |
Derma Kaput![]() from Possum Grape, Arkansas Associate, 1497 posts | All those quotes are wonderful, especially Sitwell and cummings, but I think Kierkegaard takes the cake. |

Tracey![]() from Spanktown Associate, 1891 posts | Kierkegaard's quote might be a wee bit long for a crossword puzzle, but it's definitely a keeper. |

Depends on the crossword i guess. I mean sure, if you get to 23 across and it's 300 letters, that's the one i'd guess. -----
