Acrostic

The A forms seem to be a lot of fun really

Acrostics basically involve writing a word down the page so that each letter starts a line of poetry.   That's the only requirement -- they're also good fun to rhyme but it's not at all necessary.

No little man has grown so tall
As Bonaparte, a Corsican;
Poor Josephine, she feels his lack,
Or will he grow? Of course he can!
Little man with grandeur dreams,
Empires close within his grasp --
One Victory will change it all:
Nelson has just kicked his arse.

Leanne you truely are a dream come true!! AND I lovingly appreciate your willingness to share your poetic expertise with me. I am ready to soak up some knowledge. This is an excellent first assignment. I will get to work on an Acrostic this weekend. Thank you so much.

After I've stopped laughing at this example, I'll see what I can do.

For further examples of really cool things to do with acrostics, have a look at Derma Kaput's work http://shakespearesmonkeys.com/sections/view.php/142

Surf down the wind, jump through the sky
Until rushing air breathes me back to life
Rubbers burned, smoke the adrenaline high
Venturous sign it’s time to dare or to die
Icarus be damned, I am not such a fool
Vainly flaunting this right to be cool
Obscene fires fuel these wholesale schemes
Rebelling, I reclaim the revolution of dreams.

Haha, no, Dr Seuss would say:

Skydiving Sam
Has squashened the cat
Good luck extracting
The dead feline's hat

(Dr Seuss don't do acrostics, mate)

I like yours better I do wonder about "venturing" though... it might be stretching the grammar just a tiny bit.
