Your Favourite Cicada Recipie

it's been 17 years, but they're Baack. Every 17years we have a massive cicada hatching (we. it's my first) and wouldn't you know it they have recipes for the thousands and thousands of darlings climbing all though your garden and littering the pathways.

You know, even with the added macho of cicadas (they're fighters after all), quiche still sounds gay.

Repulsive.  Although, if I serve one of these it might cure the demanding rank and file from asking that daily dreaded question, "What's for dinner?"

I love Quiche. I don't understand how Cookies can beat Quiche. It's just insane.

Anstey:

Cookies, hmm sweet, yummy, slightly sinful vs Egg Pie with yucky eggs, cheese that makes me ill, and pastry crust - bleech!!

anyway I think they'll just be ground into sauage and hotdogs around here.

As we don't have these round here, I guess i would want to treat them like shrimp - boil, peel and eat with marie rose sauce on a bed of rocket. But I would rather listen to them - to me they are the sound of hot summer holidays abroad!

Pags:

the sound is one thing. the darlings dropping on your head is another.... ( I treat them like bugs actually and leave them be, but I know people who cook 'em)

actually I don't mind them, but at times the sound is deafening!

Callooh: I can't even think of eating the buggers. I get all creepy-crawly just thinking of 'em. I think I was scarred for life when they hit SW Pennsylvania for my 5th birthday: Formication
