Farm 84

I walk along the dusty road
Remembering this place
The touch of darling sunshine
Placing kisses on my face

The rustle of the prairie wind
Embracing shafts of wheat
The song of hidden crickets
And Grasshoppers at my feet

The distant call of red tail hawk
Hunting for their prey
The rich earth scent of fallow
and the smell of new mown hay

Wildflowers wave in greeting
As I walk this path again
In my mind I clearly see
The memories of then
