The Can-Can and The Cave Man
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec - The Most Famous Nouveau Artist
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec painted the wild night life of the outrageous Moulin Rouge. His realistic depictions of colourful dancers, singers and those who frequented the Rouge laid the groundwork for freely expressing the sexuality of women and the beauty of their bodies. The Can-Can, a notorious dance, in which women would expose their underdrawers in a peek-a-boo dance with legs kicking, was made famous at the Moulin Rouge.Links
