The most important aspects of all entries is originality and artistic merit. Poetry Contest Rules: 1. Send up to 3 poems of no more than 40 lines to contest@shakespearesmonkeys.com and a $5 (US Dollars) entry fee via paypal to payment@shakespearesmonkeys.com . Poems must not have been published previously or have won any prize in any previous competition of any kind. You do not need to be an unpublished poet, but the poems you submit must be unpublished. 4. Poems must not be entered in any other contest, nor simultaneously offered elsewhere for publication. 5. Poems will be judged on literary merit. 6. Entries must received on or before Sept 29, 2008. Multiple entries may be submitted, but no more than 3 per $5 entry fee. 7. By accepting a prize, any winner of a cash prize authorizes Shakespeare’s Monkeys to use the winning entry in print and on site in perpetuity.
